Jets CB Antonio Cromartie spoke to reporters on Thursday and said that he would be willing to restructure his contract to stay with the Jets.
“This is where I want to retire.” Cromartie said.
Cromartie is due a $5M bonus in March and still has one year remaining on his contract but his future in NY may be decided after the game against Cleveland.
Cromartie has been dealing with a bothering hip and knee injury. According to Cromartie, he may have to undergo surgery in the offseason on his hip so with that surgery it could be a step back in giving him a new contract.
CB Dee Milliner has showed the defensive staff last week that he could be their #1 CB. He did that by containing one of the NFL’s top receivers, Josh Gordon to 6 catches for 97 yards and disrupting two TD passes from Campbell to Gordon.
It’ll be interesting to see how his offseason plays out. If Cro really wants a new contract, then he’ll have to play his best game ever against Miami.
