QB Geno Smith is getting back to his usual ways in throwing the ball well at times and running the football.

Earlier in the week, Smith said that it was important that they win their final game at home for the fans and it was a goal that the Jets accomplished.

“Personally we were playing for wins.” Geno said. “Every single week, we go out and try to get a victory, that’s the reason why we prepare the way we do throughout the week. That was our goal as a team coming in to this game.”

Geno went 20/36, 214 yards, 2TDs including 1 rushing. Geno also had an improved 91.7 passer rating.

Smith also did not get sacked all game nor did he turn the ball over which is plus to him and the offensive line.

WR David Nelson who caught two TDs from Geno Smith was proud of the young QB in that game.

“Im so proud of him.” Nelson said. “He’s had a year that has been up and down but at the same time he continues to fight.” Nelson went on. “He continues to plug and inspire these guys and he played a tremendous football game today.” “I loved the way he managed the game.”

Next week, Geno is facing a 17th ranked Dolphins pass defense. A team that he struggled against that essentially got him benched in the second half for Matt Simms.
