Even though the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention with their loss to the Panthers and the Ravens win on Monday night, the players in the locker room still have their hopes high. Looking to win their last home game for the fans.
Earlier in the week, C Nick Mangold said that It’s disappointing to miss the playoffs and that it’s disappointing to the players because they come in every day working hard.
DE Quinton Coples was not pleased to miss the playoffs but has no choice but to finish out.
“Our hopes and dreams were to make the playoffs and we didn’t.” Coples said. “But right now we just got to finish strong and play with pride.”
Geno Smith mentions to reporters that the team has done well this year at home. Which they have, the Jets are currently 5-2 at home this season.
“We’ve done well at home this year but we got to continue that.” Geno said. “We got another home game left and we obviously want to win it and leave the fans with something to smile about going into the offseason.”
OL Calvin Pace is frustrated but yet motivating himself and the players on the team and knows that it’s important to win it for the fans.
“I just think that we are just trying to finish.” Calvin Pace said. “We didn’t sign up for fourteen games we signed up for sixteen and it’s a tough situation knowing that your not going to the playoffs.” Pace said. “We’ll treat these last two games like it’s the AFC championship game and next week it’s the superbowl, but I think it’s important to go ahead and get this last win in front of our crowd.
The Jets remaining two games is home against the Browns and away at the Dolphins.
