3 keys to a New York Jets victory against the Raiders

Jets Raiders Football The Jets are home today against the Oakland Raiders where throwing the ball accurately and efficiently is going to be key for Geno Smith. Here are your weekly three keys for a win.

1. Stopping the passing game: QB Matt Mcgloin is starting today for the Raiders and will be without he two running backs, Rashad Jennings and Darren McFadden which means he’ll predominantly throw the ball more. If the Jets’ CBs are able to stop WR Andre Holmes since WR Denarius Moore is inactive, their defense will be in good shape.

2. Geno can quiet the critics: Geno Smith has been the talk of the town these past couple of weeks as far as quarterback change. Geno  had a horrendous 8.3 passer rating last week and hasn’t had a passer rating over 20 in a while. Luckily for Geno, he has Jeremy Kerley returning to the lineup and he is going up against a 24th ranked Raiders passing defense. If Geno can hit his receivers accurately and hope that he gets sufficient blocking and great catchers he can have a fantasy day and silence the critics.

3. Score early on: Scoring TD’s has been anemic for the Jets recently. The Jets last TD was on November 17th against Buffalo. If the Jets expect to win they need to put up at least 20 or more points to get their offense restructured.

The Jets are 0-3 after the bye this season and have tons of advantages to win as far Jeremy Kerley returning and Raiders missing their two key RBs despite the Jets being first in the league.
